Hi guys! I want to share a review of my Ipsy Glam Bag for February 2016. Since it is my birthday month, what better way to spoil myself? I recently started this monthly makeup subscription where you are sent 4 to 5 different beauty products based on your preferences. On their website you fill out a beauty survey and create a profile on your features and what your favorite brands are. You can choose from classic, trendy, or romantic styles. Based on what you select they choose what products are picked and sent to you each month. So how much is this fabulous bag of girly goodness you ask? It is $10 a month and you can cancel your subscription any time. I normally stick to my favorite makeup brands like TooFaced and Urban Decay but this is a fun way to test different products you normally wouldn’t find. I love getting mail so I wanted to try it out and share what products are amazing and ones that are eh-okay.
My bag arrived in this super glam, shiny, pink packaging which I LOVE. The theme was ‘Pretty in Pink’. The products followed a very neutral theme which complemented my profile. The products came in this funky graphic makeup bag. It reminds me of the you’ve got mail icon. Very appropriate for this digital age. Each makeup bag changes with the month/season.
The first product I pulled out was the Anti Aging Lip & Hand Polish by Jersey Shore Spa. It has a Vanilla Bean scent which happens to be my favorite, and retails for $25.00. It says it is all natural with anti aging ingredients Vitamin E and Jojoba Oil. This stuff is AMAZING. It is just a very dense exfoliating scrub that makes your skin super soft. I give this a 5 star because it actually works, and I would definitely purchase a larger bottle of it. I used it on my hands and lips, and it was great at making them soft and slothing off dead skin.
The next product I pulled out was Naked cosmetics powder eye shadow in Sierra Nevada. It retails for $15.00. This eyeshadow is VERY glittery and a dusty gold, brown. The top doesn’t stay on very well so I ended up spilling it all over myself. It is a pretty powdery shade. I haven’t really played around with it yet but it would look nice as a highlighter for a glowy, night look. I give this a 3 because the packaging is not very secure.
I really love testing different eye makeup like eyeshadows, eyeliners, and mascara. The next item I pulled out was the MR. RIGHT (NOW) Eyeliner by the Balm in color Jac. This originally retails for $17.00. It is a creamy crayon eyeliner that goes on very smooth. It is a very pretty bronze, gold color that would complement green or brown eyes. It is subtle but still makes your makeup pop. It looks amazing with a natural or smoky brown eye. It is a great product and I give it 5 stars.
The next product I received was the Bellapierre cosmetics mineral blush in Dessert Rose-MB001. This powder blush is talc and paraben free, so no harmful chemicals are being absorbed in the skin! It retails for about $20.00 and is a lovely dusty rose shade that blends out nicely. It gives a pretty flush and it would look great with a peach lip gloss and neutral face. It reminds me a little of the Bare minerals blushes. Overall, I give this a 4 stars because I personally don’t love the powder application of blushes.
The last product I received was the Ciate London mini Nail Polish with Olivia Palermo in Sunday-my off duty nude. The full size retails for $24.00. It is a pretty light pink/nude that looks great with a tan. It is very natural, girly, and matches any outfit. I noticed it also doesn’t chip very easily. I give this a 5 star.
Overall, I had some good-quality, fun, new products to try! I received 5 products for $10 and they all retailed together for about $100. You can sign up for your Ipsy subscription at Ipsy.com. Stay posted for my next review for the month of March !!!
